Evon Cloud, 68, passed away on September 12, 2015 at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. She was born on August 10, 1947, to the late Robert Mitchell and Carrie Cloud. She grew up in the Gretna Community and attended the public schools of Gadsden County. She graduated from Carter Parramore High School.
She was a hard working woman and was employed by several local businesses to support her family. She was a welcoming and familiar face around her community.
She was a member of St. Paul Primitive Baptist Church and she was baptized under Reverend Henry Cooper. She was a Sunday School teacher for the primaries. She served as the secretary for Sunday School and she also served on the usher board. She was known to her family as “Auntie Bonnie” and “Bonnie”.
She enjoyed cooking, going on trips with her family, whom she loved and adored.
She worked in the Tomato Industry for many years and she was also a cook at Kelly Jr. #12 and River Chase Care Center for many years.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving daughter, Shawn James (Curtis) of Gretna, Florida and a son, Rico Sailor (Nora) of Greensboro, Florida; two grandchildren, Briana Doyle of Gretna, Florida and KeyMiria Sailor of Tallahassee, Florida; adoring sisters, Betty “Sister” Cloud of Gretna, Florida, Sallie Jefferson of Quincy, Florida, Dorothy Betts (Tom) of Rochester, New York and a loving brother, Larry Mitchell of Rochester, New York; god-daughter, ShaMeka Blake-Price (Almanzo); nieces and nephews she adored, Shiletha and Earnest Fryson, Donald Bouie, Marvin Cloud, Kimberly and William Johnson, Rita and Nita Cloud, Fredrick Bryant, Marcus and Quesha Cloud, Linda Jefferson, Canary and Bridget Jefferson, Lloyd Jefferson, Edward Jefferson, Carolyn Martin and Tory and Bernard Tribue; her caregivers, Nita Cloud, Shiletha Fryson, Tricia Safford, Mable Jones, Briana Doyle, DeArin Robinson and Nora Barr. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and other sorrowing friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Carrie; brother, Willie E. Cloud and sister, Annie Doris Stanford.
